Introduction :

Dantop is the world's best and latest, broad-spectrum and highly potent insecticide. Dantop belongs to a new class of chlorothiazole-based neo-nicotinoid. Clothianidin is the principal active ingredient of Dantop. Dantopwas invented and developed by Takeda Chemical Industries Limited, Japan. Dantop is a popular insecticide in all developed countries including Japan. Dantop is very effective against Brown plant hoppers in rice and jassids and whiteflies on cotton.

Clothianidin, the active ingredient of Dantop has a chlorothiazole ring in its structure.

Salient Features Of Dantop :

  • Dantop is highly effective against nymphs and adults of brown plant Hopper, Nilaparvatha lugens in rice.

Soon after Dantop application in the field, Dantop kills all nymphs and adults of BPH. Nymphs emerging after spray are also killed.

  • Dantop has a unique mode of action. It acts as an agonist of Acetyl choline and ensures the mortality of the target pests.
  • Dantop provides a long lasting control of both the nymphs and adults of jassids and whiteflies in cotton.

  • Dantop has a good inhibitory action on the oviposition of female insect pests (Jassids, Whiteflies, Aphids, Brown plant hoppers and Green leafhoppers).
  • Dantop has a good inhibitory action on feeding by insect pests (Jassids, Whiteflies, Aphids, Brown plant hoppers and Green leaf hoppers.
  • Dantop has long persistence and thereby, renders more number of days of protection to the plant from the insect pests.
  • Dantop has a good translaminar, action, which is a definite advantage in controlling the insect pests colonizing the undersurface of leaves where little chemical is expected to be deposited.

  • Dantop has good acropetal and basipetal systemic translocation in the plant. Spray fluid deposited on upper portion of plant can easily reach the lower portion.
  • Dantop is effective against different strains of pests resistant to conventional insecticides like OPs and carbamates.
  • When Dantop is orally/dermally (by contact) taken into the body of insect pests, it shows toxic! insecticidal activity rapidly.
  • Dantop is proved to be very safe to natural enemies, hence fits well into Integrated Pest Management practices.
  • Dantop is very safe to mammals, birds and aquatic organisms and may impose less adverse effects on the environment because of its low use rate and safer toxicity profile.

Mode Of Action Of Dantop :

Dantop has a unique mode of action, which is different from that of all other currently available systemic insecticides. That is, Dantop acts as an agonist of Acetyl Choline (Ach) in the insect body. When Dantop is orally/dermally taken into the body of the insect pests, Dantop binds to the Acetyl Choline (Ach) receptor on the post-synaptic membrane of synapse. This process ensures the complete mortality of the pests.

Advantages Of Dantop :

FEATURE
ADVANTAGE
Dantop is a chorothiazole-based
neo-nicotinoid novel insecticide.
It enhances the performance of the product with the best and most unique mode of action.
Dantop is the best agonist of Acetyl choline (Ach) in the insect body. Ensures the best inhibition of nerve transmission in the insect.
Dantop has an outstanding efficacy against brown plant hoppers in rice. Dantop is the only insecticide which ensures good and excellent mortality of devastating pests like brown plant hoppers in rice.
Dantop has a rapid action. Dantop enters the insect body quickly and facilitates faster kill of the targeted insect pest.
Dantop has an excellent translocation in the host plant system. Facilitates Dantop to reach the entire plant system and render complete systemic action on target pest.
Dantop has long persistence in the plant. It gives more number of days of protection against the target pests.
Dantop has good translaminar action in plant foliar system. Spray fluid deposited on the upper surface of the leaves translocates to the lower surface .
Dantop has a good inhibitory action on the oviposition by the female insect pests. At sub-lethal dosage, Dantop inhibits egg-Laying.
Dantop has a good inhibitory action on the feeding activity in insects. Insects do not prefer to feed on the plant parts treated with Dantop at sub-lethal dosage.
Dantop is a broad spectrum insecticide In addition to Brown plant hoppers in rice, Dantop is effective also on jassids, whiteflies and aphids in Cotton.
Dantop is highly effective even on insects As Dantop is a novel insecticide, it will continue to remain effective against insects which are resistant to OPs and Carbamates. which have developed resistance to the commercially available insecticides.
Dantop has a very safe toxicity profile to mammals. It has a low mammalian toxicity and is safe for the farmer to handle.
Low dosage. Dantop is safe to the environment, host plant and helps in maintaining the ecological balance.
Safe to natural enemies. Fits well into Integrated Pest Management (IPM) schedule
