NAGARJUNA
INTRODUCES
THE
BEST

With Indigenously Developed Technology by NAGARJUNA AGRICHEM LIMITED

INTRODUCTION:
INDEX is the best powdery mildew fungicide, having Myclobutanil
as the active Ingredient. INDEX is an advanced Azole group fungicide which
acts as an ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitor. Myclobutanil is a well known
Demethyl Inhibitor (DMI) or Sterol Inhibitor (SI).
Myclobutanil has the Following chemical Structure:
SALIENT FEATURES OF INDEX:
- INDEX is an advanced group of azole based fungicide with broad-spectrum
activity.
- Systemic fungicide with protective and curative action.
- INDEX disrupts the ergosterol biosynthesis pathway, which is vital
to fungal cell wall formation.
- INDEX has an excellent eradicant property to control the fungi even
after penetration & colonisation in plant tissues.
- Being systemic fungicide, INDEX is absorbed by the plant system within
an hour and is therefore not washed away with post application rains.
- INDEX is highly effective against powdery mildew diseases on grape
and apples without causing any phytotoxicity to the crops.
- INDEX can be used as foliar application and as seed treatment.
- INDEX is very safe to beneficial organisms (predators, parasites and
pollinators) and fits well in Integrated Diseases Management schedule.
- INDEX has consistent efficacy in both cool and high temperatures.
- INDEX is compatible with most commonly used pesticides.
- INDEX leaves no residues on the crop. MRL = 1mg/kg (CODEX) on Grape.
- ADI (Acceptable Daily Intake) = 0.3 mg/ kg b.w.(JMPR).
- Pre harvest interval (PHI) of INDEX fixed on grapes is 15 days and
on apples is 21 days.

MODE OF ACTION OF INDEX
- As INDEX is a highly systemic fungicide, INDEX enters into plant system
and is more rapidly translocated upward in the plant then in the basipetal
directions. INDEX disrupts the ergosterol biosynthesis pathway in the
fungus, which is vital to cell wall formation of fungal pathogen.
- As INDEX has excellent anti-sporulant activity. INDEX never allows
the fungal spore formation. As a result the secondary infection or disease
spread is checked.
- INDEX is a very good Demethyl Inhibitor (DMI) or Sterol Inhibitor
(SI).

ADVANTAGES OF INDEX
|
FEATURE
|
ADVANTAGE
|
1. Systemic and eradicant fungicide
|
INDEX disrupts the ergosterol biosynthesis pathway in
the fungus, which is vital to fungal cell formation and thereby, eradicates
the powdery mildew disease. |
| 2. Long residual protection |
Reduced number of sprays. |
| 3. Anti sporulant activity |
Secondary infection is checked, thereby, disease spread
is arrested. |
| 4. Excellent absorption |
Facilitates quick action on the pathogen. Also no fear
of rains after sprays. |
| 5. Consistent efficacy |
Temperature (cool/high) has no influence on the efficacy
of INDEX |
| 6. Safe to beneficial organisms |
No harm to honey bee, predator and parasites. Fits well
into Integrated Disease Management schedule. |
| 7. PHI & MRL are well known |
The Pre-harvest Interval (PHI) and Maximum Residue Limits
(MRL) are fixed and approved by the Government of India for ensuring
quality produce for exports. |
| 8. Cost effective |
Low cost in term of less number of sprays and good price
for better produce. |

TIME OF APPLICATION
GRAPEVINE
1 Preventive: Spray INDEX starting at rachis elongation i.e., 30 days
after pruning.
2. Curative: Spray INDEX immediately after the first appearance of disease
symptoms.
3. Eradicant: Spray INDEX 4 days after pruning before primary infection.
If weather favorable for disease, repeat the spray at 15 days interval.

of INDEX shall be calculated @ 0.4 g/L
TIME OF APPLICATION
APPLE
Start spraying INDEX at the pre-pink stage of apple. Repeat the sprays
at two weeks interval depending on the severity of powdery mildew and
scab disease.

at a dilution of 0.4 gm of INDEX in 1 Litre of water. Depending upon the
spray fluid, the quantity of INDEX shall be calculated @0.4 g/litre.
DISEASE SYMPTOMS
Powdery mildew is characterised by the appearance of spots
or patches of a white to grayish, powdery mildew growth on young plant
tissues or of entire leaves and other organs being covered by the white
powdery mildew.
Powdery mildew is commonly observed on the upper side of
leaves but it also affects the young shoots, stems, buds, flowers and
young fruit.
