Morden is early maturing variety (70-80 days).
The hybrids APSH-11, KBSH-l, MFSH-8 and MFSH-17 are recommended.
Sowing Season
In light soils sowing is done during July-August, while
in heavy soils during August-September. Depending on water source it
can be sown up to October on red soils.
Grown on residual moisture on black cotton soils.
It is also a good contingent crop if there is a failure
of normal kharif crops. It is a late kharif crop.
Seed rate and Spacing
Depending on soil type seed rate is 5-8 kg/ha.
Spacing of 45 x 20 cm in light soil, 45 x 30 cm in medium
soil & 60 x 30 in heavy soils is recommended.
