Carbofuran 3G @ 33 kg/ha (or) Phorate 10G 10kg/ha at 10 days
after sowing (or) Monocrotophos 36 WSC @ 1.6ml/l at 10 and 15
days after sowing. Monocrotophos (or) carbofuran 3G 2.5kg dose
nursery sufficient to transplant 1ha at 5 days before pulling.
Seed treatment with carbendazim 50 WP (Bavistin), for dry seed
treatment (use 4g/kg seed). For wet seed treatment soak the seed
for 12-24 hrs in 0.1% (1g/l) solution. Avoid excess N application
and delay N top dressing if disease is found in epidemic form.
Spray tricyclazole 0.6g/l or Carbendazim 50 WPl g/l or ediphenphos
50 EC l ml/l. Avoid using same chemical repeatedly.
Sheath Blight
Avoid excess nitrogen and close planting. Propiconazole 1ml/l
or Hexaconazole 2ml/l or Validamycin 2ml/l of water starting with
disease appearance and 2nd at 15 days later.
Brown spot
Use disease free seed. Carbendazim 50 WP @ 1g/l or ediphenphos
50EC @ 1ml/l at early heading and 15 days later.
Bacterial leaf Blight
Grow resistant varieties like swarna. Skip N top dressing if
disease is noticed.
The spray fluid should be 500 l/ha at boot leaf to grain
hardening stage and 350 – 400 l/ha upto boot leaf stage.
