Climate

  • Brinjal a warm-season crop requires a growing period of 100-140 days with high average day and night temperatures.
  • The plants are more susceptible to injury by low temperatures than are tomatoes or peppers. Plants are killed by frosts
  • Temperatures below 650F may result in poor growth and fruit set.
  • Long spells of cloudy frostless weather also may damage the crop.
